Vetted · Intentional · Deliberately exclusive
The Inner Circle is the most exclusive tier of the Markit Community — a private, members-only space for those who are serious about building a real career or company in the film and television industry. Direct access to Jason Matthewson and the Markit team. No passive content. A live, active, ongoing relationship with a company in the rooms where deals are made.
Direct face time with Jason and the Markit team every month. Real questions. Real answers. Built around what’s keeping you up at night — not a rehearsed agenda.
Every course in the Markit Academy — unlimited access to all courses, all updates, and all future releases. Plus the full Filmmaker’s Blueprint included from day one.
First in line for all Markit events, screenings, masterclasses, and networking gatherings — including complimentary access to both Bi-Annual Producer Summits.
The complete Vault: production templates, financing frameworks, packaging guides, deal structure breakdowns. Built from real projects. Tested in the real world.
A curated circle of serious filmmakers, producers, writers, directors, and financiers. Everyone in this room has been looked at carefully before being let through the door.
Exclusive slate announcements, early casting news, and opportunities to get involved in active Markit productions before they go public.
A growing library of professional courses built by Jason Matthewson and the Markit team from years of real-world producing experience. Unlike generic filmmaking courses, every Academy module is built around what actually happens in the room — the financing conversations, the packaging decisions, the distribution negotiations, and the deals that get films made.
Equity, debt, tax incentives, pre-sales, and MGs explained in plain language — with real-world deal structures from active productions.
What packaging really means, what financiers and sales agents look for, and how to build a package that gets taken seriously at the major film markets.
How to find, pitch, and close investors for independent film — including what they want to hear, what kills deals, and how to structure the conversation.
Cannes, AFM, EFM — what they are, how they actually work, who to meet, what meetings to take, and how to come home with something to show for it.
How to approach sales agents, what they look for in a project, how distribution deals are structured, and how to maximise your film’s reach and revenue.
Why one project is never enough, how to develop multiple projects deliberately, and how to build the kind of slate that gives you leverage — not desperation.
Jason’s complete producer’s guide — six modules covering everything the film industry doesn’t openly teach. How money works in film, how to build a slate, how to package a project, and how to sustain a long career. The strategic foundation most filmmakers spend a decade trying to piece together on their own.
How films actually get made. Why most filmmakers fail. The creative/business split that defines careers.
Why talent isn’t enough. How to understand your market value and think like a producer.
Why one project is never enough. How to develop multiple projects so opportunity comes to you.
What packaging really means, why it matters, and how to think commercially without losing your vision.
Equity, debt, tax incentives, and pre-sales in plain language. How to approach investors properly.
The freelancer trap and how to escape it. The mental game that sustains a long career.
Once a year, Markit selects one Inner Circle member to join the team at one of the world’s major international film markets. Full market credentials. Real meetings — with investors, distributors, sales agents, talent representatives, and financiers. You sit in the sessions. You’re in the conversations.
And when the day’s business is done, you’re with us on the most exclusive lists in the industry — yacht events, rooftop receptions, red carpet screenings, private networking dinners, and invitation-only parties where the real relationships in this industry get built. This is not a prize. This is a career-defining experience.
Selected based on engagement, contribution, and potential. Show up. Contribute. Be present.
Email info@markitproductions.co.uk with your background, your current project, and what you’re hoping to get from the Inner Circle. Be specific — the more detail you give, the better we can assess fit.
The Markit team reviews every application personally. We’re looking for genuine intent, a professional approach, and a commitment to building something real in the industry. We respond within 5 working days.
If accepted, you receive your private Whop link, immediate access to the full Academy library, an invitation to the next monthly call, and your first introduction to the private vetted network. The door opens that day.
The Inner Circle is for the filmmakers who are done waiting — who understand that the gap between where they are and where they want to be is not a talent gap. It’s an access gap. An infrastructure gap. A knowledge gap that the industry was never designed to close for you. That is exactly what the Inner Circle is built to close.
As an Inner Circle member, you get direct access to Jason Matthewson and the Markit team as we actively develop, finance, and produce a multi-million dollar slate of features and television across London, Dublin, and Los Angeles. We attend every major international film market. We sit in the rooms where deals get made. And as an Inner Circle member, you get a window — and sometimes a seat — at that table.
Here is what you unlock from day one:
Monthly calls with Jason — Direct face time, real questions, real answers. Built around what’s keeping you up at night — not a rehearsed agenda.
The full Markit Academy library — Every course, every resource, every guide. Updated as the market changes. Yours from day one.
A private, vetted network — Every person in the Inner Circle has been reviewed carefully. The calibre of the room is part of the value.
The Market Pass — Once a year, one Inner Circle member joins the Markit team at a major international film market. Full credentials. Real meetings. The rooms where careers get built.
The membership is £997 per year. Less than two hours of a standard entertainment lawyer’s time. Less than one return flight to Cannes. And it comes with direct access to a company that is in the market, in the rooms, and in the deals — every single week. Not everyone who applies is accepted. That is not gatekeeping — it is the reason membership is worth having.
£997 / year · Applications reviewed personally · Not everyone is accepted
Everything you need to know about the three tiers — Markit Community, Markit Producer, and the Inner Circle — before you join.
The free Markit Community gives you Whop access, general chat, member discounts, Markit Private Pages, and discounted event tickets. The Markit Producer tier (£199/yr) adds the Filmmaker’s Blueprint, select Markit Academy courses, the recorded call library, and 20% off Summit tickets. The Inner Circle (£997/yr) goes further still: live monthly calls with Jason, the full Academy library, the private vetted network, free Summit tickets, direct project feedback, and eligibility for the annual Market Pass. Each tier is a genuine upgrade in access — not just a higher price.
The Markit Academy is a growing library of professional courses built by Jason Matthewson and the Markit team from real-world producing experience. Courses cover film financing, packaging, investor relations, working film markets, distribution strategy, and career development. Markit Producer members access select courses; Inner Circle members get the full library plus all future releases.
Every month, Inner Circle members join a live video call with Jason and the Markit team. Each call is built around member questions — not a pre-written script. Members submit their biggest challenge or question in advance, and that becomes the agenda. Calls run 60–90 minutes and are recorded. Markit Producer members have access to the recorded call library but do not attend live. Free Community members do not have access to calls or recordings.
The Inner Circle is not defined by how far along your career is — it is defined by how serious you are. We have members working on their first feature and members producing at scale. What they share is intentionality. If you are not yet ready for the Inner Circle, the Markit Producer tier is the right place to start — the Blueprint and Academy courses alone will give you the foundation most filmmakers spend years trying to build. You can always upgrade when the time is right.
The Markit team reviews every Inner Circle application personally. We are looking for genuine intent, a professional approach, and someone who will contribute to and benefit from the room. Applications that are specific about what the applicant is working on and what they want from the membership are far more likely to be accepted. We respond to every application within 5 working days. Not every application is accepted — the value of the network depends on the quality of the people in it. The free Community and Producer tiers require no vetting and are open to all.
Once a year, Markit selects one Inner Circle member to join the team at a major international film market — Cannes, EFM Berlin, AFM Los Angeles, or the London Film Festival. Markit covers the full market credentials. The selected member attends real meetings alongside the Markit team with investors, sales agents, distributors, and financiers. The recipient is chosen based on engagement, contribution to the community, and potential — not seniority. The member who shows up, asks questions, contributes ideas, and demonstrates drive is the member most likely to be selected. The Market Pass is exclusive to Inner Circle members.
