When ambitious estate agent Victor Bernal discovers an eerily abandoned London flat filled with the previous tenant's possessions, his professional interest turns to dangerous obsession. As he delves deeper into the mysterious disappearance of its last resident, he becomes convinced that Elisabeth Blunt — the fragile daughter of the deceased owner — murdered her mother to inherit the property.
Rather than report his suspicions, Victor sees an opportunity and begins a calculated game of blackmail to claim the flat for himself. But in this psychological cat-and-mouse game, nothing is quite what it seems. Is Elisabeth truly the killer Victor believes her to be, or is his growing paranoia leading him down a path of self-destruction?
Set almost entirely within a single apartment and the building surrounding it, the film draws its tension from character and atmosphere rather than spectacle — a deliberate structural choice that maximises production value per pound spent.
